I like that idea, Joe. Can't do it this year, but the idea of putting out a new Idlewild short story for Halloween 2011 really appeals to me. Thanks for suggesting it!
I have just read idlewild for the fourth time, needless to say its my favourite and everytime i do, i check out this site, hoping and praying for news for a new release, anything new in the future, big big fan, cheers
Sadly, no short story this year. The silver lining: I am working on something Idlewild related and I'm looking forward to sharing news on that when the time is right.
Your Dad was and continues to be a hero of mine. Thank you for sharing YOUR ideals with the world, Nick. Your Dad's book Billions and Billions: Thoughts on Life and Death at the Brink of the Millennium (including the profound Epilogue) has changed my life for the better. ~Heather (((Psychology-Neuroscientist/Medical Researcher/Cancer Researcher/ Owner of Uncommon Research TM, LLC)))
"Lord, this is epic. If you thought the first volume of the Shrapnel series was intense, brutal, and dark, just wait until you get your hands on its follow up."
"A delightful 'expedition in search of the future,' providing clear explanations of today's cutting-edge technologies to find where science fiction has become reality."
"One of Next Generation's best seasons ever... The series was at the top of its game, consistently turning out episodic sci-fi hours that felt fresh and captured the imagination."
"The story is dark and gripping. Numerous subplots and twists are heightened by a surprise climactic revelation. Character developments are complex. The portrayals of the dark side of mankind in these characters are chilling."
We could celebrate it with a new story about Halloween and his siblings?

An Idlewild short story would be fantastic! Seeing a glimpse into Hal's life before the Calliope surge would be pretty interesting.. just an idea heh.
