When all's said and done, she should heal up, though she'll always have some pain and she won't ever have the same range of motion. And the pins will set off those wands they use at the airport. Today was a long day--opinions, second opinions, blood work, filling prescriptions, coordinating medication with the anesthesiologist, etc. Wiped out. That's how I feel right now. She's even more zonked, and naturally worried about tomorrow. (It's a fairly routine procedure, but all surgery has an element of risk.)
Oh, about my trip: I had a ridiculously fun time. Of the three Worldcons I've attended, this last was the best. I'll give a full report later this weekend, but it's an early call tomorrow and right now I've got to grab some zzz's.
Hope your mother get better son.
We'll be waiting for the full report.

Oooo, oww! That must hurt. Good luck to her with the surgery. I hope you both get the needed rest.
Yes, let us know what happened at WorldCon. :)
