It's officially 6/6/06 here in Ithaca. The world has not ended yet. There is nothing to worry about. That is all.
Except...
Okay, I wasn't going to say anything, but have you by any chance read the Apocalypse of Thomas? It's part of the New Testament Apocrypha, the suppressed works of the bible that have been lost over the years so now we have only fragments. Thomas warned that on the first day of judgment, "there shall be a rain of blood." Bloody rain, now that would be alarming. You'd hear about it, certainly.
So do you know about the "scarlet rain showers" that fell sporadically on parts of India in the summer of 2001? Well, as it turns out, that "mysterious, blood-colored" precipitation may have contained microbes from outer space.
Alien life. Without DNA. That can reproduce even in superheated water. No, I'm not kidding. Click the links if you don't believe me.
Ladies and gentlemen, we live in interesting times.
Perhaps judgement has indeed started, then, with mind-controlling microbes. Although I always figured we'd kill ourselves before any aliens had the chance to do it. And Phoenix is fine, too, so I guess I'm just going to have to die a normal death. Shucks.
